HSC 2021: More than 500 NSW schools to begin trials on August 18

Advertisement More than 500 NSW schools will begin their HSC trials on August 18, two days after year 12 students will be allowed to return to campus. The Catholic Secondary School Association or CSSA trials - which are sat by more than 500 schools, including public and independent ones - were originally delayed until August 9, and will now run from mid August until the beginning of September. NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian on Wednesday announced the city’s 50,000-odd year 12 students will be allowed to return to school in just over two weeks, despite climbing COVID-19 cases and tightening restrictions in hotspot areas. HSC students will be returning to the classroom next month.

Barrumbi Kids from local studios Tamarind Tree Pictures and Ambience Entertainment. Set to premiere in 2022, the 10 x 30-minute live-actioner stars two kids growing up in a remote community who learn what it means to live in Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal cultures through their everyday adventures. Barrumbi Kids is based on a same-name tween-skewing book series by Australian author Leonie Norrington. Tamarind’s Danielle MacLean ( Grace Beside Me), Ambience’s Monica O’Brien ( Drop Dead Weird) and freelance creator Julia Morris ( Kundirri The Life) are producing the series together, with Grant Brown, Deb Brown and Ismail Khan (pictured left to right) on board as directors.
