leases a little more than a year ago. the industry has paired it down. no leases is a gold mine or a rush. the fact of the matter is, if you think of oil guys just being money grubbing sobs, would be in their interest to make more money at these prices getting that stuff out of the ground. but that s neither here nor there. i want your thought on another development that caught people by surprise. this staten island warehouse facility of amazon that voted to unionize. i was looking at some of the pay strictures there. they re very generous. benefits very generous. got me thinking about starbucks a couple of shops that have also gone to unions in the face of hourly wages that are well north of $20 and benefits that are extremely generous. google experiencing this as well. a push to unionize the spectacle divisions even in the face of benefits and despite all of that, that are second to none in the technology world. what do you think is going on
models and not assistants. this made everyone very uncomfortable and they knew ahead of time that this was a condition epstein would be bringing these women and female staff, especially, feared for these women s safety. i think it s an illustration of the impact that it has when you cover up a relationship like this. he was using the prestige of these relationships to continue his activities. now whether that had anything to do with these two women or not we don t know. certainly writ large epstein was continuing his pattern in this period and a lot of whistleblowers felt guilty about the cover-up. that is a great example because it shows the brazenness with which jeffrey epstein behaved. he would trot out different women, women were always around him. this was for years and years. and i guess, what s the lesson here, that m.i.t. was so money grubbing that they were willing to overlook all of that? i think the lesson is bigger than that, alisyn. i think the lesson is when important
anti-semitic territory with her language. the language she used to make those criticisms, whether she knew it or not, did engage in anti-semitism and understanding why language matters, i mean, anti-semitic tropes that jewish people will mesmerize others or they re money grubbing, horrible, ugly notions, are very old. i think they go way back. i think that s what people heard when they heard her language. there s language that matters, and then it s perfect acceptable to have a debate about the u.s. and its relationship with another country. are republicans ready to have a conversation about this? are they content to sit back and watch nancy pelosi wrestle with it? two things, another issue
