A unique partnership will bring state-of-the-art fiber optic lines to Dunbar, West Virginia homes and businesses, and it will also generate revenue for the city. Dunbar and SecureNet, a South Charleston-based internet service provider, have entered into a private and public partnership with the city getting 25% of the subscriber payment, which will initially be used to build out the fiber optic project to the rest of the city s neighborhoods. After it s all built, revenue collected can be allocated for anything the city wants to allocate it for, officials said.
