A federal lawsuit has been filed against a Dunbar, West Virginia police officer, Lt. Chad Shafer, alleging the officer sexually assaulted a woman while he was in uniform.

Dunbar and SecureNet, a South Charleston-based internet service provider, have entered into a private and public partnership with the city getting 25% of the subscriber payment, which will initially be used to build out the fiber optic project to the rest of the city s neighborhoods. After it s all built, revenue collected can be allocated for anything the city wants to allocate it for, officials said.
Two Kanawha County residents are suing the City of Dunbar to release body-worn camera footage of misdemeanor arrests that allegedly resulted in injuries to Roger McKinney and Jessica Carter. Dunbar Mayor Scott Elliott has said the city attorney is working to set a hearing date in the case to determine whether or not the footage should be released.
