More than two dozen fire departments responded to a fire Saturday morning that left a key ambulance facility in ruins. Flames had already engulfed the Emergency Ambulance Service building at 30 Commercial St., by the time first responders arrived just after 11 a.m. The Freeport Fire Department joined 26 other departments and 150 personnel on the efforts to extinguish the flames.
