"The Army chief would be in Srinagar today to review the situation on ground along with the top military commanders there from the 15 Corps which looks after both counter-terrorism and counter-infiltration operations in the valley," Army sources told ANI.
NEW DELHI: Army chief General M M Naravane on Wednesday asked troops to be fully prepared to meet all security challenges, including Pakistan-abetted terror , during a two-day visit to Kashmir to take stock of the ground situation.
Gen Naravane, accompanied by Northern Command chief Lt-General Y K Joshi and 15 Corps commander Lt-General D P Pandey, visited different units and formations in the hinterland on Wednesday. “The chief was briefed by the local commanders on the existing security situation and the measures being taken to identify and target the network of over ground workers (OGWs) involved in radicalization and recruitment of youth into terrorist ranks,” said an officer.

New Delhi: General MM Naravane, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) is on a two day visit to Jammu and Kashmir to review the prevailing security situation in the union territory.
On arrival at Srinagar, the Army Chief, accompanied by Lt Gen YK Joshi, the Northern Army Commander and Lt Gen DP Pandey, Chinar Corps Commander visited units and formations in the hinterland where he was briefed by the local Commanders on the existing security situation and the measures being taken to identify and target the over ground workers’ (OGWs) network involved in radicalisation and recruitment of youth into terrorist ranks. Efforts to prevent local recruitment and facilitate surrender of local terrorists were also discussed.

"The Quad neither intends nor attempts to be a military alliance. It is meant to be a plurilateral grouping which focuses on issues specific to the Indo-Pacific," he told PTI in an interview.
