The two officers are behind bars charged in the young boys murder. Cnn just learned the fathers condition was upgraded from critical to serier iserious. Still many questions remain to how it happened and how a 6yearold was innocently gunned down. Cnns nick valencia joining me now from louisiana. Nick, what more are you learning . Two very Big Questions in this community is why the marshalls would have chased that father into that lead end and why use lethal force . Weve been looking into the history of these Police Officers and according to local media reports here in the area at least one of the officers has had a history of a past runin with the criminal justice system. In 2011, 32yearold derrick stafford, an officer charge with the murder of 6yearold jeremy mardis, was indict with two counts of aggravated rape. i m thomas roberts. we are covering the breaking news of university of missouri. a few hours ago the president of missouri university system announced he is resigning, stepping aside, it comes after calls for him to step down grew much louder from students and certain state poll turns. he says he hopes that this will move the campus toward better inclusive and better inclusion, excuse me, and move forward for the university. i d ask everybody, from students to faculty, staff to my friends, everybody, use my resignation to heal and start talking again to make the changes necessary and let s focus on changing what we can change today and in the future. meanwhile, students cheered in celebrated the news after months of criticism of how wolf handled racial tension on
