The energy was high at Capital City High School from the start. Jefferson City was able to maintain it through the end. The Jays pulled away in the final 11 minutes to take a 63-51 Central Missouri Activities Conference win against the Cavaliers on Saturday after it was delayed a day because of weather.
The Helias Crusaders brought the intensity to the court Tuesday night.
The Crusaders took care of the basketball on offense and locked down on defense, gritting their way to a 57-48 Central Missouri Activities Conference victory against the state-ranked Hickman Kewpies at Rackers Fieldhouse.
Helias won on the boards, it won on forcing turnovers and it won on 50/50 chances. The Crusaders got their conference season started Friday night by holding off the Capital City Cavaliers for a 63-51 Central Missouri Activities Conference win at Capital City High School.
