Kpix 5s sharon chin is here with a closer look at the numbers and how the state is trying to end the violence. Yes, in the report a mass killing is when theres 4 victims, not including the suspect. Most of the cases were shootings where the motive is still a mystery. Reporter 211 people were killed in the u. S. This year in 41 mass killings. The most since the 1970s. The data compiled by the associated press, usa today and northeast university. And california which has had some of the strictest gun laws in the country had the most of any state. Many people we talked to felt sad and shocked. I dont know what the answer is. I really dont. How do you teach respect for life . Protect the homeland.
