CBC Diphupar B wins choir competition - Eastern Mirror

Our ReporterDimapur, Oct. 23(EMN): The two-day Western Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (WCBCC) youth department convention-cum-sports retreat concluded on Sunday at WCBCC Mission Centre, Chümoukedima. Chakhesang Baptist Church (CBC) Diphupar ‘B’ emerged as winner of the choir competition, while CBC Chümoukedima and CBC Diphupar ‘A’ won the second and third positions respectively. A total of 15 churches participated in the choir competition. Hito Kiho, one of the judges of choir competition, shared that the Chakhesangs are doing well in music, especially choir music, and encouraged them to work on more originals songs. “In the future if you can have your own music and folk songs, they can be incorporated into choir songs,” Kiho said while also giving suggestions to perform better in choirs. It was jointly organised by Western Chakhesang Baptist Church Council Youth Department (WCBCCYD), Western Chakhesang Youth Organization (WCYO) and Western Chakhesang Students’ Union (WCSU) on Rothihu Tetseo, Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Nagaland was the resource person of the event. He emphasised on the leadership qualities one should possess in different capacities. “As Nagas we have multiple gatherings and such gathering should be valued,” he said. The resource persons were Jenpu Rhakho Rongmei (Founder and Functionary, Can Youth and Buna Enterprise), Kevethito Rose (EAC, Peren Hqs.), Rev. Dr. Chekrovei Cho-o (Prof. of Applied Theology, OTS, Bade, Dimapur), Dr. Michael Tetseo, MBBS (MO, CHC Jalukie) and Zhokhoi Chüzho (Bollywood actor).
