Phoebe Martinson of Phoebe’s Pastry Café in Olympia found herself facing bright lights and TV cameras this fall as she became the latest Thurston County baker to join the ranks of contestants on the national Food Network’s “Halloween Baking Championship.”
It’s a long way from Lauren Rogers Gotti Sweets cake and pastry bakery in Olympia to the Food Network studios in Knoxville, Tennessee. But Rogers was invited to make that trip to compete against 11 other bakers from around the country in season 8 of the network’s Halloween Baking Championship which aired this fall.
Miss Moffett’s Mystical Cupcakes is home to an array of deliciously baked specialties, including vegan and paleo options. All are gluten free and peanut free. This spring, they have something special for moms, dads, grads, brides or just "because."
At The Sweetest Things, owner Jeff Gibson has taken that community support to another level. He opened the Lacey gift boutique in September 2017 with the mission to empower women in business and the community.
