A school bus driver in Oswego County was arrested Thursday, accused of providing a camera to a child and convincing the child to give him roughly 50 pictures of the child’s genitals over eight months, according to federal prosecutors. Three lewd photos discovered during the investigation included a bus seat in the background, according to federal agents. Frederick Haresign, of Oswego, is accused of providing “nicotine products, cash, and other gifts in exchange for Victim 1 creating the sexually explicit images and videos and giving them to Haresign,” according to a criminal complaint.

Ejembi Onah accused of PPP COVID-19 loan fraud, U S Attorney says

The U.S. Department of Justice announced a Washington man pleaded guilty March 26 to wire fraud and money laundering in connection with his scheme to obtain over $5.5 million in Paycheck Protection Program loans and then laundering the proceeds. The Washingtonian is scheduled to be sentenced in July and faces a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison. A 42-year-old Milwaukee man pleaded guilty Monday to obtaining more than $600,000 in COVID-19 relief funds, according to the Associated Press. The Milwaukee resident could get up to 30 years in prison when he is sentenced in July. Onah made his first court appearance Monday in Binghamton before U.S. Magistrate Judge Miroslav Lovric and was released with conditions.

BINGHAMTON, NY Ejembi Onah, of Ithaca, New York, was arrested yesterday on a federal wire fraud and money laundering complaint alleging that he fraudulently obtained approximately $150,000 in government-backed loans meant for businesses struggling with the financial effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Antoinette T. Bacon; Jonathan D. Larsen, Special Agent in Charge, New York Field Office, Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-Criminal Investigation; and Kevin M. Kelly, Special Agent in Charge, Buffalo Division of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). The criminal complaint alleges that between April 1, 2020 and March 3, 2021, Onah received approximately $150,000 in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL), which were issued by two banks and the Small Business Administration to two companies he controlled.
