Yelp is making it easier for people to show their support for Asian-owned businesses.
The crowd-sourced review company is launching a tool that will give restaurants and other businesses the ability to identify themselves as Asian-owned if they wish, Yelp’s chief diversity officer Miriam Warren announced Tuesday in a blog post. Owners can select the Asian owned attribute via their Yelp for Business account to update their listing page if they choose. Users will then be able to easily find the businesses when filtering searches for Asian-owned enterprises. The tool is a similar feature displayed on businesses that self-identify as women or Black-owned.

The Publishers Association of the West, or PubWest, announced that Miriam Warren of No Nonsense Fly Fishing Guidebooks has been elected president of its board of directors. Warren succeeds Colleen Dunn Bates, who was named president emeritus of the board.
In addition, the board announced that
Publishers Weekly executive v-p Cevin Bryerman and Young Authors Publishing publisher Leah Hernandez will join the PubWest board of directors.
Joining Warren as officers on the executive board are: v-p Rachel Bell, v-p of operations at Overcup Press; treasurer Amy Barrett-Daffin, publisher of C&T Publishing; and secretary Rachel Noorda, director of book publishing at Ooligan Press.
