MINT HILL, NC – On Tuesday, July 20, the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce held another monthly Member Luncheon at the Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation.
The Mint Hill Chamber Executive Director Paige McKenney welcomed all the participating members attending the event that began at high noon. Kim Rhodarmer from Servant’s Heart led the invocation, and Director Phil Angelo from Leisure Travel Experts led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The lunch was provided by Chick-Fil-A, and raffle ticket gifts were handed out to the winners for some goodies provided by various members. The scheduled speakers of the day were Fire Chief David Leath, and Police Chief Joseph Hatley. Unfortunately, Chief Hatley was unable to attend due to another matter requiring his personal attention. CHARLOTTE – B/ Insurance. As you will read in the article on Cruising, one of the most concerning aspects of the Covid 19 outbreak, is medical care in foreign countries. Almost without exception, all countries came to realize there were 2 serious aspects of tourists becoming ill while visiting. First was the availability of testing and treatment options. Most countries used “WHO” to ramp up protocols to meet the new demands, and implemented policies to prevent spreading either direction, while visitors were in the country. Regardless of preventive measures, some visitors were still going to be exposed. There was a cost involved in testing and treating those victims incountry, as well as a very big cost involved if the visitor had to be evacuated. That led to a requirement by most countries, mandating you purchase ON ISLAND insurance that would cover those costs.

Entry requirements are different for each country you can travel to, and they change almost daily. Please consult a Travel Consultant before you book. On one trip Barbara and I made to Barbados, 60% of travelers who tried to board our flight from Miami to Barbados, WERE REJECTED at the gate because they did not have the required documentation. I can imagine how hard these folks worked to purchase tickets, make reservations, and take time off work, only to lose everything at the last minute. Some new requirements may be;
