Joys and pains of thicker snow and thinner ice I’ve been hearing about the joy Minnesotans are getting from snow this winter and the pain resulting from thin ice. Despite warm weather in early- to mid-January, good snow conditions stretch far south of the Twin Cities.
The Minnesota Sea Grant (MNSG) fisheries and aquaculture extension associate is a one year, full-time position (renewable for up to three years) for a highly motivated individual with experience working in fisheries and/or aquaculture research. Outreach is a critical responsibility of the position while supporting multiple projects and programs within MNSG. The fisheries and aquaculture extension associate will work under the supervision of the MNSG extension program leader and the guidance of other fisheries and aquaculture extension staff.
Minnesota Sea Grant’s One Block project is helping people in vulnerable Great Lakes communities improve their resilience to the effects of flooding through equitable and inclusive stormwater management. Changing precipitation patterns are affecting communities in the Great Lakes. everywhere. People in communities across the Great Lakes are experiencing water challenges including flooding and damage to homes, businesses, and community infrastructure and degraded water quality of streams and lakes.
