Reporter after more of a year in delays in his Mental Health evaluation the report is finally ready. A judge will review and he will decide today if richard kirk is fitted stand trial. Last September Kirk changed his plea to guilty by reason of insanity and a judge will review that report and decide whether to set the case for for treatment. The defense suggests that when kirk killed his wife in may 2014 he was so impaired by the marijuana infused candy that he may not have intended to kill his wife. The state police tell us the shooting happened on the ac expressway near mile post 12 around 3 00 in the afternoon yesterday. The driver of the white suv was able to get to the egg harbor wawa where they asked for help. They almost sideswiped me coming in. When they parked, the driver was like, please help us, weve been shot. I said i cant help but but ill call the cops. Police arent sure if the people in the suv and car were shooting at each other or if there were more vehicles involved. Right near the main crime scene, police say they found a number of weapons they believe are connected to the shooting. So far, police have not identified the victims but we do know theyre all under the age of 40. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
