Is it time for Minnesota to finally have a state soup?
Rep. Jim Nash, R-Waconia, is offering an answer to the question no-one has ever asked, by submitting an amendment to the state budget bill to designate a state soup study group.
Nash told the Minnesota Reformer he offered the amendment to make a point . and subsequently withdrew it. “There have been so many advisory commissions and councils and different things that I believe ultimately are outsourcing decisions that legislators need to be making, so I’m making a very humorous offering of a group of people who would come together to figure out what the state soup should be,” he told the publication. “It’s not serious in the least.”
