Man Sentenced To Prison, $12 Million In Restitution For Role In Third Precinct Fire

Unsplash (KNSI) – A man from Central Minnesota learns his fate for his role in setting fire to a Minneapolis police station during last year’s riots. Dylan Shakespeare Robinson was sentenced on Wednesday to four years in prison and must pay $12 million in restitution. The 23-year-old from Brainerd was convicted of arson for burning down the Minneapolis Police Department’s Third Precinct on May 28, 2020. According to court documents, Robinson went to the Third Precinct, where a crowd of hundreds had gathered. At one point, the crowd began shouting, “Burn it down, burn it down.” Soon after, a fence designed to keep trespassers out of the Third Precinct was torn down.

Author: Breckenridge Police A 23-year-old man from Brainerd has pleaded guilty to helping set a fire at the Minneapolis Police Department s Third Precinct on May 28.  Dylan Robinson pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit arson, the U.S. Attorney s Office said in a news release. A sentencing date has not been scheduled.  The news release, citing Robinson s guilty plea and court documents, says Robinson the night of May 28 went to the Third Precinct where a crowd of hundreds was gathered.
