COVID-19 Parent Benefit to be Extended
The Ministry for the Family has announced that the COVID-19 Parent Benefit is to be extended to reflect the current restrictions which are in place to curb the spread of COVID-19 and which have seen schools shifting to online lessons until the 11th April.
Parents employed in the private sector with children under 16 years of age, who are not able to work from home, and who due to the impact of COVID-19 and the closure of schools, between the 15
th March and 11
th April 2021 cannot go to work and are on unpaid leave, to take care of their children, may apply for this benefit. (Does not include employees, working with private companies, and who work or provide a service in a Government department or entity).
