Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez has met with legislators representing Piura, with the aim of articulating actions to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic in this region of northern Peru.
In a tweet, the Council of Ministers reported that in her capacity as representative of the Executive Branch in Piura Minister Fernandez has informed of the actions to respond to emergencies caused by heavy rains, which have been pounding the region in recent days, as well as the measures to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez on Wednesday confirmed that the Peruvian Government established a new nighttime curfew for the provinces under extreme risk due to COVID-19, which will run from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. the next day. It also includes mandatory social immobility on Sundays.
During a press conference, the high-ranking official stressed that a slight slowdown is registered in the contagion rate, as well as in the number of related deaths. In order to be clear, there is no longer a quarantine for 14 days. However, there is mandatory social immobility, also known as curfew, which runs from 9 at night to 4 in the morning, and strict social immobility on Sundays, Bermudez expressed.
