Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez on Wednesday confirmed that the Peruvian Government established a new nighttime curfew for the provinces under extreme risk due to COVID-19, which will run from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. the next day. It also includes mandatory social immobility on Sundays.
During a press conference, the high-ranking official stressed that a slight slowdown is registered in the contagion rate, as well as in the number of related deaths. In order to be clear, there is no longer a quarantine for 14 days. However, there is mandatory social immobility, also known as curfew, which runs from 9 at night to 4 in the morning, and strict social immobility on Sundays, Bermudez expressed.
