Hanoi (VNA) –
The fourth batch of
AstraZeneca vaccine with 288,000 doses arrived at Tan Son
Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on May 25 night.
It is the second batch
ordered by the
Health Ministry via the Vietnam Vaccine JSC (VNVC) and the fourth
delivery to Vietnam.
So far, four batches
of AstraZeneca vaccine have been delivered to Vietnam with nearly 2.9 million doses,
including 117,600 on February 24; 811,200 on April 1; 1.682 million on May 16,
and the latest 288,000.
Vietnam has to date
conducted vaccinations in the first and second stages in cities and provinces
with over 1,034,072 doses administered to those in the priority list in accordance with Resolution No.21/NQ-CP dated

Hanoi â Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long has asked agencies and localities nationwide to immediately make plans to carry out the third phase of COVID-19 vaccination on greater scale compared to the previous phases.
According to the official, 1.682 million doses of AstraZenceca COVID-19 vaccine will arrive in Vietnam on May 16, which are supplied by COVAX Facility via the UN Childrenâs Fund (UNICEF).
Dr Duong Thi Hong, Deputy Director of the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology said that the Expanded Programme on Immunisation will continue to hold trainings on COVID-19 vaccination, especially pre-vaccination screening and response to post-injection reations to ensure safety.

Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said that the current wave of Covid-19 in Vietnam is much more complicated than the previous ones and the new virus variant has spread in an unprecedented way.
The 4th outbreak – the latest – occurred on April 27 and so far the number of locally-transmitted cases has reached nearly 600 cases across 26 provinces and cities. The remarkable feature of this wave is that it is much more complicated for three reasons.

Expressing his gratitude towards the support of the
Vietnamese Government and the Ministry of Health for Laos and its people in the
past time, Bounfeng informed that since April 20, Laos has been
hit by the pandemic, which has spread to 15 out of 18 provinces nationwide.
The national count of infection cases has been on the rise, with new infections
mostly resulted from illegal immigrants, he said.
Vietnam to provide Cambodia with 800 ventilators

NDO – Vietnam has decided to provide Cambodia with 800 ventilators, two million medical masks, 300,000 N95 masks and other medical equipment to serve its COVID-19 pandemic prevention.
Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long announced the information at an online meeting with Cambodian Minister of Health Mam Bunheng on April 22 in a bid to update information and share experiences in COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.
The Vietnamese Health Minister valued the efforts of Cambodia in implementing anti-COVID-19 measures, noting that Vietnam is ready to assist Cambodia in its pandemic prevention fight.
