JetBlue Airways will begin service next year at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, airline and airport officials said Wednesday.
The new service is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2022, according to a statement from Mitchell International.
The New York-based airline will offer nonstop flights to two key markets from Milwaukee: Boston Logan International Airport and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport.
“This is exciting news for travelers throughout Wisconsin, Brian Dranzik, airport director at Mitchell said in a statement. JetBlue is the largest domestic airline not already serving MKE, and this will be a fantastic option for passengers traveling to and from Milwaukee in 2022.

Southwest Airlines said Friday it is adding service between Milwaukee and Florida during the spring travel season.
Starting April 17, Southwest plans to fly nonstop flights on Saturdays from Milwaukee Mitchell International to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. The nonstop flights will be available through May 8.
Southwest is also planning to convert its Saturday-only Fort Lauderdale service to daily nonstop flights starting April 12. The change will include nonstop flights to Fort Lauderdale seven days per week, including two nonstops on Saturdays.
“Florida continues to be the number one destination state for Milwaukee-based travelers, and Southwest is responding to this demand by flying to an additional Florida airport from MKE,” Brian Dranzik, airport director at Mitchell, said in a statement.
