An American General was shot and killed in afghanistan today in an apparent insider attack. The pentagon said a man dressed in an afghan army uniform fired at a group of International Soldiers at a military base near kabul. The military has not released the generals name. He is believed to be the highest ranking officer killed in afghanistan or iraq wars. 15 other people were wounded. Half of them were americans. We have more now from kabul. The 72 hour ceasefire between israel and hamas is still holding. Israel has agreed to extend it. This comes in the talks of a longer truce but the two sides have not reached an agreement yet u. N. Member states to hear the latest information on gaza and to express their views. The meeting started with a serious ofa series of briefings. All recognizing Israel Security concerns in the region, but tended to focus on the suffering of palestinians on this confli conflict. We heard about the need of accountability for attacks on u. N. I would like to welcome everyone to todays hearing on the Judiciary Committees overcriminallization task force. The tenth and final hearing will focus on the abundance of federal criminal offenses on the books and the role that the Judiciary Committees jurisdiction or lack thereof under house rules plays on this issue. This committee is comprised of lawmakers with the ability to avoid redundancy with the awareness of the entire body of criminal federal law. With other recommendations we should consider the amendments to clarify not only to criminal Law Enforcement with legislation as well. Populations and we were able to get it up and running pretty quick. So here is some of the outcomes of the grant to date. We have been able to assist through the outreach and education event and the 101 navigator appointments over 78,000 individuals and attended hundreds of outreach programs and held 17,000 or more navigator appointments and that includes doing the application and setting up the account and they come back and want to pick a plan and enroll and so that doesnt always happen with every consumer in that order, but consumer appointments include all of those activities. We had almost a 100 navigators trained at any given time throughout the state. Those navigators not only completed the 20 hours of training that is required but in florida they were required to be finger printed, background checked and registered with the state.
