Here. Reporter first i want to show how close the garage is to a house next door. You see the roof and the back porch to that home are damaged pretty badly this morning. Firefighters got the call at 1 39 this morning. The garage fire. They were sent to fight it, but it grew out of control. Firefighters did evacuate near good by homes as a precaution. It took firefighters an hour to get things under control. They were able to keep the fire from spreading any further. We talked to one neighbor who saw the fire and feared the worst. It was a scary thing because i know she lives over there with her family. And she has children in the house, and i was hoping and praying to god that everybody got out safe. Reporter the fire marshall on the scene. Thankfully no injuries to report. The kaucause remains under investigation. Thank you. Fewer destroyed a row home and damaged another in montgomery county. This happened before 11 00 last night in norristown. Investigators dont know how it started.
John rawlins is live now. That was chaos and tonight it is certain to be an emotional vigil. Reporter it was 9 23 when the train derailed. There will be a vigil to remember the anniversary. The cause of this crash remains undetermined. We know what happened. The train was going too fast for conditions but the why is still unclear. A year ago tonight amtrak 188 flew off the frankford curve and neighbors recalled the all hands on deck efforts by residents and first responders. I have never witnessed anything like that before and i hope i never do. Serious train accidents are rare and this one was bad. The locomotive was traveling price the speed of the posted limit of 50. The ntsb will determine the cause of the crash next week in washington. Amtraks boss was in philadelphia today. We need to understand what really happened and we expect the ntsb to provide that very shortly. Good evening, guess case off tonight im chris may. That plane flew a 1700mile journey, down the the east coast and through cuban air space, until the flight ended off the coast of jamaica. Plane took off from an airport in rochester, new york bound for naples florida. Now this is a look at the actual plane that crashed, and it is a tbm700. U. S. Fighter jets, f15s actually flew alongside this plane after the pilot failed to respond to air traffic control. The fighter jet pilots report that the pilot was slumped over at the controls. On board that plane was larry glazer, a prominent Real Estate Developer from rochester, and his wife. Their son confirmed that both were licensed pilots, but did not say anything about the fate of the couple or if anyone else was on board this plane. Cbs news is covering this story very closely.
