(TNN) - Arvest Bank’s 11th annual Million Meals Campaign has exceeded 500,000 meals, or half its goal so far. They only have one month left to go! This year, Arvest is accepting monetary donations at its branches and drive-thrus and via the Arvest Go mobile app until May 29. Arvest is unable to accept food donations this year. However, every dollar raised through Million Meals provides the equivalent of five meals for local, hungry families. Arvest in Southwest Oklahoma has partnered with Lawton Food Bank, Christian’s Concerned in Duncan, Chickasha Emergency Food Pantry, Elgin Food Bank and Walters Food4Kids.

Low-income individuals and vulnerable families in Uganda, Ghana and Angola started receiving parcels packed with essential food items to empower them to prepare their own meals throughout Ramadan. Every Dh1 donated to 100 Million Meals provides one meal in targeted countries.

Dubai to auction rare car and mobile phone numbers to support 100 Million Meals campaign

Dubai: Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, in partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, Etisalat, and Emirates Auction, will organise a charity auction to sell off special car plate numbers and mobile numbers to support the ‘100 Million Meals’ campaign. Proceeds of ‘The Most Noble Numbers’ auction, to be held on Saturday May 1, at Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City, will go towards providing food aid for disadvantaged individuals and families across 30 countries during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The auction will enable bidders to own exclusive numbers, while contributing to a good cause. Distribution of food parcels has already begun in several countries as part of the ‘100 Million Meals’ campaign, in an integrated network of collaborations between the campaign’s organiser MBRGI and local and international partners in each beneficiary country. Food parcels will empower individuals and families to prepare their own meals throughout Ramadan.

SHARE A total of nearly $10 million was pledged to the UAE’s 100 Million Meals campaign at a charity art auction in Dubai on Saturday. Organised by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives in collaboration with Maupy Auction, the live auction, which took place at the Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, included rare artworks by Pablo Picasso, Nelson Mandela, Salvador Dali and David Hockney in its listings, as well as a signed painting by Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairperson for Dubai Culture, titled The Road to the Journey of Humanity. The charity initiative is one of the region’s biggest food drives, intent on giving 100 million meals to disadvantaged families during Ramadan. The amount of Dh36,673,000 ($9,985,840) raised will be used to help provide that same number of meals to beneficiaries in 30 countries throughout the holy month.
