It is my pleasure to introduce our panelists this afternoon, conversation on Lessons Learned by the u. S. Military. So let me first introduce our panelists. I will begin with jennifer murray, who of course is on my far right. Jennifer is assistant professor of history at the university of virginia, her Research Explores the relationship between warfare and the creation of historical memory with particular emphasis on the preservation of battle fields. Her first book on a great battlefield, the making, management, and memory of Gettysburg National Military Park earned the 2014 award for contributions to historical understandings of the gettysburg campaign
