We begin with the wave of gun violence in chicago. Since thursday evening, at least four people were killed. 25 more were wounded in a dozen separate shootings. Gangs are blamed for some of the violence where targets include adults, innocent bystanders and even toddlers. But as Dean Reynolds reports, chicago is even safer than it was a year ago. Reporter there was a small rally friday evening against the violence that grips parts of this city. In addition to Community Leader chicagos mayor rahm emanuel attended. We cannot allow children in the city of chicago and we will not allow children in the city of chicago to have their youthfulness, their optimism their hope taken from them. It was just a few weeks ago that the fed predicted it could be 2. 6 . So with unemployment still high and inflation low, the fed is giving the economy more help. Well, that news sent stock prices to record highs. The dow gained 147 points to close at 15,676. S p 500 closed at 1,725. Heres Senior Business correspondent Anthony Mason.
