Kuala Lumpur: National sprint champion Muhammad Azeem Fahmi continued his winning streak in the US by winning the 100m sprint at the Florida state university (FSU) relays championships early this morning.

SEMINOLES SHINE ON FIRST DAY OF FSU RELAYS

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s annual FSU Relays kicked off Thursday at Mike Long Track in Tallahassee, Fla.  With the majority of the events set for Friday, the Seminole men’s and women’s teams will go into the final day in fine shape. Senior Amani Heaven was FSU’s top finisher winning the women’s shot put with a throw of 16.84 meters.  A second team All-America in the event at the 2022 NCAA Championships as a junior, Heaven finished second in the shot put at the ACC Indoor Championships last month.  Her winning throw was a personal best. A trio of Seminoles finished second in their Thursday events.  Tallahassee native Curtis William’s 7.59 meter long jump was second best in the men’s field and junior Faith Banks was runner-up in the women’s 200 meters with a personal best time of 23.60.  Riley Bahr was second in the 5,000 meters at 17:13.01. Sophomore Riley Simmons, from Bradenton, Fla., was seventh in the women’s hammer throw with a best effort

PATRICK DONNELLY NAMED ACC MEN S TRACK PERFORMER OF THE WEEK

GREENSBORO, N.C.  -  Florida State distance runner Patrick Donnelly was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Track Performer of the Week the ACC announced Monday. Donnelly, a redshirt freshman from Alexandria, Va., led a 53-man field in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:15.81 at the River City Spring Break Classic hosted by North Florida. FSU’s Coleman Cronk finished second in the same race with a time of 14:18.87 and Paul Stafford was fourth at 14:24.00. The Seminoles host the FSU Relays this Thursday and Friday at Mike Long Track in Tallahassee, Fla. and several of the Nole distance group will compete in the Raleigh (N.C.) Relays on the same days.
