The Hamburg Township Board of Trustees has approved revisions to a Mixed Planned Unit Development.
In February, the Murie Glen MPUD gained preliminary approval for a roughly 49-acre site between the Mystic Ridge subdivision to the west and Merill Road to the east. On Tuesday, Township Planner Scott Pacheco brought a revision to the Board because one of their conditions for approval could not be met and had to be amended. The condition called for the showing of legal access to roads, but the township attorney found they could not do that for Thompson Pond Road. The proposed connection to an existing unimproved stub of Shadbush Trail needed to be re-addressed.

Missouri-based Catholic Healthcare International has been sent back to the drawing board by the Genoa Township Board of Trustees following denials related to a proposed chapel and prayer space.
CHI has been seeking to construct a 6,000 square-foot chapel with other accessory uses in honor of St. Padre Pio on 40 acres located on the west side of Chilson Road, south of Crooked Lake Road. The project, which would also include Stations of the Cross, a mural wall, and nature paths for quiet reflection has been loudly opposed by neighbors in the area.
Residents opposed spoke at multiple online planning commission meetings about the project going against the master plan, traffic issues it could cause, and being a general disruption to their rural lifestyle.

Fenton City Council has approved the return of late-weekday downtown fun that was a success last summer.
The âFenton Street Experienceâ is coming back on Thursday and Friday evenings from 5pm until 9pm beginning May 20th. It is scheduled to run weekly through October 14th and 15th. In a memo to City Council, City Manager Lynn Markland wrote that one of the takeaway from last yearâs event was an appreciation from the public and especially families to have pedestrian use of the streets those evenings. It also helped businesses, including restaurants and bars that took advantage of a joint right-of-way application for the use of sidewalks during the event. This year, Markland says they are doing it again and have also created a number of mini-events to supplement the Experience, with health, safety, and welfare in mind. The Farmerâs Market will also run on Thursdays.
