The Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union/Lone Tree wrestling team traveled to Centerville Saturday for the Mike Halupnick Big Red Invite. The Wildcats were 10th of 14 participating teams with their score of 73.5 points. Creston-Orient-Macksburg won the team title with 201.5 points. The Wildcats crowned a pair of champions on the day with Lane Scorpil taking the title at 113lbs, winning the championship match by fall over Connor Fiser of Bondurant-Farrar. Chance Malone was at the top of the podium at 285. He won the title by fall over Logan Green of Clarinda. Other top finishers included Gerardo Orozco fifth at 160lbs and Trent Wilkerson fifth at 182lbs.
