Governors Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State; Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State; Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State; Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State; and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, as well as their deputies and other top government functionaries were yesterday administered with the COVID-19 vaccine in their respective state capitals.
Delta, Sokoto, Anambra, Kebbi and Oyo States also yesterday received their allocations of the vaccine from the federal government.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, on Thursday, received his first dose of the Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
The governor, who was vaccinated by his personal physician, Dr Mike Enyinnaya, at the Government House, Umuahia, encouraged residents to avail themselves of the opportunity and be vaccinated.
He said, “The deployment of the vaccine as a device to fight COVID-19 is a global decision endorsed by the World Health Organisation and captured by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. Everybody must key into the agenda.”
The Director, Abia State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Mrs Meg Onwu, said the state received 61,320 doses.

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has received his first dose of Oxford AstraZeneca COVID -19 vaccine in Umuahia.
The Governor was vaccinated by his Personal Physician, Dr. Mike Enyinnaya at the Government House, Umuahia.
Speaking after receiving the vaccine, Ikpeazu encouraged all those within the age bracket recommended to take the opportunity of the availability of the vaccine to get vaccinated.
