Ikpeazu, Umahi, others receive jabs,more states get vaccine

Punch Newspapers Sections Published 12 March 2021 Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, on Thursday, received his first dose of the Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. The governor, who was vaccinated by his personal physician, Dr Mike Enyinnaya, at the Government House, Umuahia, encouraged residents to avail themselves of the opportunity and be vaccinated. He said, “The deployment of the vaccine as a device to fight COVID-19 is a global decision endorsed by the World Health Organisation and captured by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. Everybody must key into the agenda.” The Director, Abia State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Mrs Meg Onwu, said the state received 61,320 doses.

Okezie Ikpeazu who received the consignment was later vaccinated against the deadly virus.
