Four grants totaling $95,000 will support open space and recreation projects in Heath, Rowe and Shelburne.The grants are part of $253,200 that the Baker-Polito Administration awarded to seven communities and two organizations within the Mohawk Trail.

HEATH Following a May 7 election that saw 240 residents cast their ballots at the former elementary school, Heath has a few new faces on the Finance Committee and Selectboard.
According to results from Town Coordinator and outgoing Town Clerk Hilma Sumner, Susan Lively beat Karen Brooks in the race for a Selectboard seat by a vote of 140 to 99. Lively has served on different town committees in the past, most recently the Facilities Task Force. She is replacing outgoing member Gloria Fisher, who did not seek re-election following completion of a three-year term.

HEATH Contested races for Selectboard and Finance Committee top the town election ballot on Friday. Polls will be open from noon to 6 p.m. at 18 Jacobs Road, the former elementary school.
Karen Brooks and Susan Lively, both of whom have previously served in Heath town government, are running for Selectboard.
The previous board member, Gloria Fisher, is not running for re-election. Fisher was elected for a three-year term in 2018. She had previously worked as the Heath town coordinator. Fisher could not be reached for comment by press time.
In the Finance Committee race, six candidates are running for three available seats. Among the six, the only one who is currently a member of the committee is Ned Wolf, who serves as chair. The five others are newcomers.
