Some dramatic new video just into our newsroom sacramento firefighters saved this home from the valley fire middletown. The crew was able to breakthrough a fence dragging hoses right up next to the home and knocked down flames burning roof before the fire completely destroyed it and take a look at the aftermath now. The home Still Standing thanks so some hard work by the crews there. Everything surrounding the house completely burned. And lets take a look at the numbers of just how big this valley fire is. So far, its burned 67,000 acres. Firefighters have it about 15 contained. Right now. Thats an improvement from yesterday when the fire was only at 10 containment. Nearly 600 homes have burned to the ground. A majority of the devastated area is located between highway 29 and highway 175 in lake and napa counties. Lets get right out to kpix 5s cate cauguiran. Liza, thank you. Breaking news. Six people are injured after an earlymorning fire damaged four homes. This is in Contra Costa County. The fire began shortly after 1 00 this morning in bay point. Investigators are looking into how that all got started but they say it appears the fire began actually with a burning car on anchor drive and that spread to the nearby homes. And tonight, neighbors are telling us it was only a matter of time. Those neighbors say it sounded like a warehouse full of fireworks going off. Hour, firefighters think it burned for quite some time before anybody noticed. The fire then jumped to a house and then heavily damaged it and then spread to three more houses. A lot of folks are in bed and by the time they tried to escape, there was a lot of smoke and flames. Many of them had to run past the house that was fully engulfed and had smoke inhalation. One man had burns to his back and went to the hospital. All injuries are minor at this point. Contra costa county fire Marshal Robert marshall says the high cost of bay area housing might be a factor in all of this because when people cram into houses, they often have unpermitted construction that pushes the homes too close together making it easier for the flames to spread. People are finding alternate ways of living in that kind of situation so you have houses that become overcrowded and they need places to put those people so thats one of the possibilities is that they build for that reason.
