The MiG-21 Bison aircraft bid farewell in a historic ceremony in Rajasthan, marking the end of their service and the beginning of a new era for the Indian Air Force. These aging aircraft, serving for six decades, will be replaced by the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mark-1A. The transition reflects the IAF s commitment to modernization and safety. Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary revealed plans to retire all MiG-21s by 2024.
As per plans, the No. 4 squadron will be getting the Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jets in its inventory and may move to a new location in the desert sector itself by the end of this month.
