Resident says speed survey on London Road, Bicester is bad timing

A speed measuring device has been placed on the road to see how fast vehicles are travelling. But resident Dee Bailey, who originally thought the speed measuring device was a vehicle counting device, believes carrying out surveys during lockdown will result in a skewed result. She said: Of course it will be unrepresentative – why else would it be in place now? I still think that this is a way of counting traffic and very suspicious. Maybe they might like to leave it there until way after the traffic returns to normal and see what happens. I can’t see that happening though.”

Tell Oxfordshire County Council what you think about cycle scheme for Bicester

BICESTER residents are being urged to give feedback on a major new cycle scheme to help make the town a safer place to ride and walk, cutting vehicle journeys and creating cleaner air. Proposals for the Bicester Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan will be made possible thanks to the government s active travel fund as well as an investment by the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP), with a focus on increasing cycle journeys. Under the plan, it is hoped people will be able to walk or cycle from the south and west of Bicester into the town centre, via Kings End and Causeway.

Businesses set to occupy new controversial warehouses

Four businesses have now snapped-up all seven buildings in phase two, totalling 32,710 sq ft. Oxfordshire-based removal firm House 2 Home has taken lease for unit 11 at the site, while Fabal, a family-owned aluminium company, will occupy unit 12. Units 9 and 10 which spans over 7,300 sq ft have been acquired by Stolford Ltd and Units 6-8 totalling 18,250 sq ft have been sold to NJS Properties Ltd. Both of these purchasers will use the buildings in part and let the remaining space for investment. The warehouses in phase one were pre-sold to Aver Property and around half of the phase is under offer to major occupiers.
