we ll see you in a few. thank you. homophobia maybe behind the brulte al slaying of of a marine by another marine. the violence erupted in front of the marine barracks washington on 8th street at about 2:30 this morning. ken was able to get hold of surveillance video of the moments right after that attack. reporter: 9news was first to show you these images following the stabbing attack. you can see passersby shocked after what they just witnessed. this woman held her head in disbelief while others reached for their phones and dialed 911. the police showed up so the shortly after and then the paramedics, who rushed the victim to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. murder to happen, it s surprising no the victim, 23- year-old phillip stationed at camp lejeune, north carolina. the man suspected of stabbing him is michael joseph po, stationered here. witnesses told police they heard him yelling homophobic slurs before stabbing him. sentries saw the commotion a
pretty nice day with plenty of sunshine. how hot did it get today? it was warm all across the bay area. some spots were actually close to 20 degrees above average for this time of the year. we reached a low ninety s in a lot of spots. san jose coming in at 91. typically 72 degrees this time of year. the forecast for right now, pretty nice outside still even in places like concord where they reached the low 70 s at 10:00 tonight. 77 in livermore and still in the low 60s in san fransisco. and, we are going to see a chance of rain. coming up later this week. so we will tell you much more about that coming up but in the meantime back to you. , one week anniversary of a tragic yachting accidents a memorial service for those that lost their lives. five crew members died when wave swept over their boat during a race, slamming them into the rocks. there was a memorial flotilla earlier this evening. those that watched the floating memorial called spectacular and sad but an importa
