pretty nice day with plenty of sunshine. how hot did it get today? it was warm all across the bay area. some spots were actually close to 20 degrees above average for this time of the year. we reached a low ninety's in a lot of spots. san jose coming in at 91. typically 72 degrees this time of year. the forecast for right now, pretty nice outside still even in places like concord where they reached the low 70's at 10:00 tonight. 77 in livermore and still in the low 60s in san fransisco. and, we are going to see a chance of rain. coming up later this week. so we will tell you much more about that coming up but in the meantime back to you. >> , one week anniversary of a tragic yachting accidents a memorial service for those that lost their lives. five crew members died when wave swept over their boat during a race, slamming them into the rocks. there was a memorial flotilla earlier this evening. >> those that watched the floating memorial called spectacular and sad but an important event for families of the victims, some of whom will not even have a body for the funeral. just before sundown scores of boats gathered in the day for a flotilla memorial for it yachting sailors killed or lost at sea. there yacht and a crew of eight sailed out the golden gate last weekend to compete in a century old race to the islands and back. a wave knocked some members into the water. as the got reportedly turned to rescue them, another wave hit knocking more into the water and tossing the 30 ft. boat up onto the rocks. only three were rescued, one was found dead off the island and for watched to see. family, friends, and ordinary bystanders watched as the memorial flotilla moved along the shore. everyone here knew someone connected to the tragedy. kimberly was a family friend of one of the victims. >> she was a wonderful young woman. and i am sure that all the children that first parish were wonderful children. it was a tragic event but the coast guard did everything they could. everyone did everything they could. faith is what it is. >> a bag tied could be heard on the radio as flowers were dropped into the bay. organizers said that it wanted to be on their boats in the water watching the sunset as they remember the crew of the low-speed chase. the names of the victim were red. alexa's/26, allen cahill 24. jordan from 25. marquis allen 46. there were all said to be experienced sailors, four bodies have not been recovered. as the sun went down, a san francisco fire boat pumped five tower resumes' of water over the memorial flotilla. the wreckage of the low-speed chase remains on south east island right now, it is said to be removed sometime this week by salvage crews. >> thank you very much. they could be the first pieces of debris to hit american soil from last year's tsunami in japan. a volleyball and soccer ball were spotted by a radar technician on middleton island, that is 70 mi. south from the mainland in the gulf of alaska. here's a tickepicture. the writing on the bulls were ball was traced to a school in japan. it is some of the first a brief at the resident was driving his pickup truck around 6:30 p.m. last night when he saw the downed power lines. he got out of his truck, he tried to move the line and that is when he was shocked. he was taken to stanford medical center where he was pronounced dead. pg&e's said the tragedy is a warning about the dangers of touching down power lines. >> if a customer sees a down power lines, the best thing to do is stay away and keep others away, call 9 1 1 and pg&e's so that we can get out as quickly as possible to make the scene safe. >> pg&e's is investigating the reason for the downed power line. there is reports of a metallic balloons that is responsible that has not been confirmed. 300 customers lost power. san francisco mayor wants the suspended sherrif's former campaign manager to testify. the san francisco chronicle reports that the mayor asked a judge to have hurt turn over nearly four months of cell phone records, and to testify in his official misconduct case. they're looking for evidence proving that he tried to dissuade people from cooperating with police. the city's ethics commission will hear the case on monday. a memorial service was held at oikos university in open today. classes will resume monday, three weeks after seven people were killed in a massacre. class's for nursing students will be held elsewhere. >> a korean church from santa clara held a service outside of oikos university today. >> this is a very solemn moment for me. i have said that nursing class will be held at a college in fremont but he would not say anything else on advice from his lawyer. some students drop out of school altogether. too traumatized by the events, to return. at their website continue to list the names of the seven victims today. they are also asking for donations to " rebuild the dreams of victims and their families cope. dozens of people have waiting for the man accused of killing an unarmed teenager to release on bail. reason the $150,000 bail is one problem for george zimmerman supporters but security is another concern. >> george areas of fog, low clouds, patchy fog along the coast and the day. the senators will not be too bad for the overnight hours. mainly in the '60s, we could see if you upper '40's as well. so for tomorrow we're going to see the return of sunshine, mostly to partly sunny skies. the senators today reached many spots in the south bay and east bay, into the '90s. only the very low '80s tomorrow. otherwise seventies around the coast and day but once again still pretty nice for the weekend. satellite and radar shows the weather story. high-pressure in place for the next several days. we're watching a low west of the bay area that could bring us a good chance of rain midweek. we'll get to that in a moment. in the meantime here's your forecast, overnight lows, many fifties in the bay area, areas of patchy fog. 53 is or forecasted low in oakland and 59 in vallejo. mid 50's in livermore and cooler places like santa rosa and sandra felt coming in with the low 50s. otherwise your forecast for tomorrow where you see all those of orange, that is generally 80s, yellow is '70s. not too bad. 84 in vallejo and 80 in concord and then a little cooler places like san fransisco and pacifica coming in with the upper 60s and very low seventies. over the next several days, sunshine returns tomorrow but you will notice a dramatic cooling difference for tomorrow's temperatures. even cooler on monday for the start of the work week and then tuesday, wednesday it looks like our eyes are only going to get into the very low seventies for tuesday and wednesday. wednesday night into thursday is when you could see the chance of rain moving into the forecast. anywhere between 40 and 60 percent chance that this one so there's a good chance on thursday that we could get wet and the senators really take a nosedive as well. it does not last long because friday we have a warming trend. once again, some cheers reaching close to 70 degrees next saturday. >> kind of a roller coaster?
