Middletown detectives arrested Melody Jean Christensen, 44, of Centre, Ala., late Thursday on charges of murder and illegal discharge of a firearm, according to a statement. Police said they found Christensen at a hotel in East Hartford. She is being held in lieu of $1.5 million bail and was arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court Friday. The case is continued to April 20.
