Officials with the Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard said troopers are investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a Perry County man.
Trooper Matt Gayheart said KSP Post 13 was contacted at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Friday, March 5, by the Perry County Sheriffâs Office. The PCSO, said Gayheart, was requesting assistance with a death investigation on Middle Drive located in the Bulan Community of Perry County.
Gayheart said troopers and detectives responded to the scene and located a male victim inside the residence with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim, said Gayheart, had multiple gunshot wounds in the upper extremities. No weapon was recovered at the scene, he said, and there is currently little information to go on.

On Friday, Troopers received a call at 9:15 p.m. from the Perry Co Sheriff’s Office asking for assistance. The shooting happened on Middle Drive in the Bulan Community. When Troopers arrived at the house, they found 52-year-old Paul Williams Jr. dead inside with gunshot wounds. Troopers said the Perry Co Coroner’s Office pronounced Williams dead. New Whiteland families unite for first-ever holiday light contest

What started as a question in a community Facebook group blossomed into a way to unite families and spread Christmas cheer in the midst of a global pandemic.
Having moved to New Whiteland from Carroll County this year, Dee Appleton didn’t know how the town celebrated Christmas, so she asked the town Facebook group if there was a town tree.
Appleton found out via the group there wasn’t a celebration yet. Neighbors had a strong interest in a house decorating contest and a public Christmas display.
