WATCHUNG - The Watchung Inclusion, Diversity, Equality and Respect Committee (WIDER) has offered recommendations to the Borough Council on how to promote those values in Watchung.
Council President Wendy Robinson shared the recommendations with the Borough Council at a virtual meeting on Thursday, Dec. 17. Robinson, who noted the work of the committee is ongoing, said the recommendations are based off feedback gathered at several public listening sessions.
She thanked all those who participated in the sessions.
âYour input was important,â she said. âFrom that, we canât say that discrimination is rampant in Watchung and weâre probably not very different from other towns. Our residents have differences in perception, some of which is generational, and we will do our best to raise awareness. But clearly our residents are concerned about diversity.â
