This was an underground electrical fire involving peco equipment. The smoke, from that fire, backed up into several businesses here, and caused high levels of Carbon Monoxide. So fire crews were going doortodoor making sure there wasnt anyone inside, fortunately, this is largely a commercial area, so, again there were no injuries. Crews ventilated three businesses here, and have since cleared the scene. This all started around midnight, on east main street, near swede street. Again, crews quickly put out the electrical fire showing light pole. Afterward, thats when they detected those Dangerous Levels of gas and upon going doortodoor fire crews actually discovered an unrelated gas leak, at some nearby apartment. Back inside their ants this morning, and the focus returns to the electrical problem outside of the local businesses here, take a listen.
