Event held at Furzey Gardens to support Minstead Trust

1/1 BROADCASTING legend Esther Rantzen hosted a belated 80th birthday party to raise funds for a Hampshire charity. The event was attended by Lord and Lady Montagu and the trust s founder, Tim Selwood. Music was provided by the Michelmersh Silver Band, which was performing for the first time since the start of the Covid crisis.

New mayor of Romsey, Karen Dunleavey, appointed in ceremony

A NEW mayor of Romsey has been officially appointed as councillor Janet Burnage stepped down from her role. Councillor Karen Dunleavey, who represents Romsey Tadburn on the town council, was appointed at the annual Mayor Making ceremony on Tuesday, May 18. Councillor Neil Gwynne was appointed as the deputy town mayor. Ms Dunleavey s husband, Alex, will be her consort for the year and this is the second time she has done the role. She takes over from councillor Janet Burnage, who served as mayor for two years instead of one, due to last year s ceremony being cancelled in a bid to stop coronavirus spreading.
