Wyeth, 2021 ROCKLAND On Monday, July 12, the Farnsworth Art Museum celebrates Wyeth Day with a special virtual presentation on Zoom. The program will feature a conversation between artist Jamie Wyeth and Farnsworth Chief Curator Michael K. Komanecky focused on the recent gift by Betsy Wyeth to the museum of 27 works by three generations of Wyeths. The program will take place beginning at 5 p.m., and is sponsored by The Cornelia Cogswell Rossi Foundation.

The annual competition is open to all Maine residents, and includes categories for published books, as well as drama, short works and student writing. Nearly 300 writers sent work for consideration. Carolyn Chute won the 2021 MWPA Distinguished Achievement Award “for exceptional and steadfast contributions to the Maine literary arts as a fiction writer.” Portland writer Ron Currie Jr. presented the award and read remarks prepared by Chute.
