STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office will no longer prosecute cases against sex workers, while criminal cases against sex traffickers, pimps and those who pay for the service will continue.
The shift in policy is part of a growing movement across the U.S. to reform the way sex-for-money is policed.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. –- An ex-convict from Port Richmond who’s already served two prison stints for robbery could soon make it three.
Paris Williams, 31, was busted on Thursday in connection with an alleged armed stickup in his community on March 24, said police.
The events unfolded around 6:30 p.m. inside a Metro by T-Mobile store at 234 Port Richmond Ave., said a criminal complaint.

And for wealthier clients, there are escorts advertising by word of mouth and communicating via personal email.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Teachers at Paulo Intermediate School (I.S. 75) in Huguenot are working to instill kindness among their school community, as well as bring the important topics of diversity and equity into the school’s curriculum.
Teachers Briana Delbuono and Stephanie Theodorou, seen in the photo above, are part of the school’s Kindness Team. Other members include: Principal Kenneth Zapata, Assistant Principal Danielle Martinson, literacy coach Michael Trimble, eighth-grade guidance counselor Lauren Castellan, and teachers Ryan Murphy, Meredith Feigel, and Courtney Saccomanno.
