USL League 1
TORONTO, CANADA Some things in the world are long shots, while other things match expectations. At the height of Didier Drogba’s European career, playing in the USL was a long shot. When seat cushions flew into the Toronto afternoon sky after Danny Dichio scored TFC’s first MLS goal, that was a near certainty.
On a scale comparing Drogba in the USL to flying seat cushions, Toronto FC II winning their 2021 USL League 1 season opener draws closer to the former. However, the Young Reds did just that, defeating the North Texas SC 2-1 on Saturday night.

TORONTO, Canada After a slow start to their MLS campaign, Toronto FC have managed to pick up points in consecutive matches for the first time this season heading into Saturday’s match where the Reds will try and make that three straight matches when they “visit’ Orlando City SC. While the Reds are tenants at Exploria Stadium for at least part of this season, Saturday’s match up will officially be a road match for the club.

77’ - A man Shaffelpossessed.
Shaffleburg has all the tools to be an incredible super sub this season. All he’s missing is the finished product, which he just provided. Should do a world of good for his confidence. Mitchell Tierney (@mitchelltierney) May 15, 2021

catching balls seems like a very basic skill, but oopsies happen and good thing Bono’s name is etched in stone to play every single game the rest of the season, no matter what happens. ♂️#TFCLive Tej Sahota (@boatical) May 15, 2021

TORONTO, Canada After a couple false starts, Toronto FC found their way into the win column for the first time this MLS season Wednesday night, against the defending champions Columbus SC. Now, the Reds will try to do that all over again, this time at Yankee Stadium against the New York City FC.
Kick-off is scheduled for 1 PM ET and can be watched on TSN 4 and CTV.
With Wednesday’s win, Chris Armas and his squad will have settled the nerves amongst the Reds faithful after their slow start. The offence, a big part of what made this Reds team unrecognizable, looked rejuvenated, by going back to basics, with new Designated Player Yefferson Soteldo handed his first start in a Reds shirt.
