TORONTO, Canada–Toronto FC has a mammoth task ahead of them following a 3-1 first leg “home” defeat to six-time CONCACAF Champions League winners Cruz Azul.
The first leg result means that TFC will need to win the return fixture in Mexico by a goal margin of at least three in order to progress on aggregate. If Toronto wins 4-2, they would advance via away goals, but seeing as the Reds have not scored four in a game since July 2020, that scoreline seems like quite the stretch considering the calibre of their opponent. Moreover, Chris Armas and co. will need a performance like no other if they are to set up a semifinal clash against either Monterrey or Columbus Crew.

TORONTO, Canada Toronto FC announced today that the club has acquired $200,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) or in other words salary cap space from Orlando City SC in exchange for an international roster spot.
In total, Toronto FC have acquired $425,000 in salary budget room in the past week. Yefferson Soteldo s salary budget charge is $612,500, so it could be to help offset bringing him in this window, but if I had to guess, I d say there s another move coming, likely for a defender. His shot was saved by Maxime Crépeau, but it creeped toward the net, and when Crépeau tried to slap the ball away from danger, it went off his own post and back into the net.

TORONTO, Canada After a tough outing last week against CF Montreal, the Reds take to the pitch once again on Saturday against another Canadian rival, the Vancouver Whitecaps. Kick off is scheduled for 3 PM EST and can be watched on TSN 1 & 4.
Saturday’s match at Exploria Stadium, will officially be TFC’s home opener and while it is usually a special game for the club and its fans, it will lack the flair and excitement that usually comes along with a BMO Field home opener. Speaking ahead of Saturday’s “home opener,” Chris Armas commented on the unusual circumstances surrounding his first home match with the club.
