(Harrisburg, PA) Harrisburg City Council is going to be banning evictions to help home renters who may be struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The council approved to create an emergency order on Friday. The emergency order will be suspending evictions for financial reasons for city residents by at least 30 days. Fire crews are battling a Sunday morning house fire on the 3700 block of Gettysburg Road in Lower Allen Township.

LOWER ALLEN TOWNSHIP – The swift actions of two people who had just gone out for a cup of coffee may have saved some lives Sunday morning in Cumberland County.
“We spotted the fire, pulled over and we just jumped out and started banging on the doors,” said Tom McCutcheon. “We got in the house, and we just helped the man and lady get out.”
That fire broke out around 8 a.m. Sunday on the 3900 block of Gettysburg Road in Lower Allen Township.
