The UW BLUE NOTE ENSEMBLE, a quintet under the direction of Johannes Wallmann, focuses each semester on the music of one 1950s or 1960s jazz recording artist. This concert will feature music composed by Wayne Shorter for the ensembles of Miles Davis, Art Blakey, and Shorter's own ensembles. A driver from Stone Mills is facing three charges from Ontario Provincial Police after an officer on patrol witnessed a vehicle being driven in an odd manner on Highway 401.
The OPP said in a news release that on Saturday night at about 10 p.m., the officer saw a vehicle ramp onto the highway heading east at Division Street, but as it merged, it suddenly slowed “to an unusual speed.”
